Last night I was reading a Mad magazine trade paperback.
It was a " best of" compilation from years past. Inside was "A Mad Look at King Kong" by Sergio Argones.
One of the gags was King Kong climbing the Empire State building. A guy pops out and shakes his head at Kong. Then the guy points out to the distance, and Kong does a " thanks for the tip" kind of look.
The last panel has Kong with Fay in hand, walking into the distance,towards the Towers.

I just finished watching friday night dateline.It was about the seven firemen from station 6 who were helping a older lady come down the stairs in tower 1. She had come down from around the 70th floor and she couldn't walk anymore as they got to the 4th floor stairway. The firemen were getting frustrated, not wanting to slow down, as they knew that tower 2 had already collapsed. As they were held up on the 4th floor stairway, they heard the tower coming down above them. The little section that they were at didn't collapse.It was the one part of the tower that held together. Pretty amazing luck.And seeing those pictures with how big those towers were, it is amazing they survived.The firemen and the old lady met up at the firehouse 2 days ago for the first time. They asked her if she had known that tower 2 had already collapsed as she was heading down the stairs. She said no, she had no idea. They laughed, saying " so thats why you were so calm and cool."
