I wanna be celebrating Animation Day at the next AN Night. Animation Day is April 1, and even though we'll be having AN Night on March 30, it's close enough. We've been doing it since 1999, and we'll be encouraging all of our friends and even our proclaimed enemies to observe it with us!

The ideal of an Animation Day is greater than any one site or group. It's relevant! Drop the attitudes for just a wee while guys and join us.

Don't just wannabe. BE all you wannabe.... Open your window, door or mail slot and shout out, "I BE WHO I WANNABE!" (or, "I be all I wanna be!" is good, same thing.) and begin to ascertain the understanding of the new dedicated movement of genuine AN "wannabes" who have discovered that life is the perpetual mental highway where we strive to be all we wannabe in every moment within the eternal flux of our individual forward motion. We are the non-cult of wannanannabe who are becoming who we wannabe, bringing the future into the present. Know that if you know you are not who you do not wannabe, you are on the right path of knowing who you wannabe next, as change is the only constant that we can know, or wannaknow. And if it is what you want, than be it. What is it? It's it!

Anyway, I'll see you next time, because I wannabe there.

We've had some great wannabes at AN Night and there's more on the way.

There's wannabe Don Hahn and wannabe Paul Felix to name a couple who've been with us.

And there's wannabe Raul Garcia on the way in April.

Along with wannabe Don Bluth in May.

And of course, the wannabes from the Animation Guild in October.

It's a great line up of AN Nights shaping up.

More great news! We've got wannabe The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art joining us for this coming AN Night!

And to sweeten the occasion, they're going to present a free class to someone in attendance. Exactly who, I have no idea. We'll raffle it off and see who wins.

This is what they're offering to the lucky one...

"LAAFA is now offering an UNLIMITED Uninstructed Model Workshop Pass for only $170.00 for 10-weeks ($17/week!) - Starting April 5, 2010, come 6 Days a Week and attend as many workshops as you like! Bring your ambition, talent & supplies. We will provide the model, coffee and fun! "

That's a $170 value ladies and gents! Someone's going to win a free pass to this open workshop, available 6 days a week for 10 weeks!

Are you familiar with the LA Figurative Academy?

If not, check out their website and prepare to be knocked on your ass by how good a school it is.

http://laafa.org

So in addition to the great Mark McDonnell and "The Art and Feel of Making it Real"...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/0982231776/ref=pe_ar_x1

We'll have Joe Pearson and "War of the Worlds: Goliath"...

http://www.wotw-goliath.com/

And the LA Academy of Figurative Art!

See what's happening folks?

AN Night is the place you wannabe.

Doors open at 7 pm. First pizzas at around 8 pm.

Bring a friend, everyone's welcome.

Talkin about wannabes, just got off the phone with a very cool person and I'm happy to report that we're officially allied with a premiere event that is happening at the end of May in Pasadena.

AnimationNation is officially allied with the First Annual RockNComic Con.

Rock on RockNComic Con!

Here's the link to their site:

http://RockNComicCon.com

More details to follow about how we'll be working together. More good news, we're expecting a representative of this new LA Burbank Hollywood area convention to be with us this coming AN Night and he'll be making a presentation along with our other terrific guests.

So the RockNComic Con will be with us on March 30.

Good stuff, good stuff.

Another hugely successful evening. Mark McDonnell was great. The LA Figurative Academy made a very impressive presentation. The one who stole the show was Joe Pearson. He's produced amazing animation in his career and everyone was genuinely blown away by the vast amount of work he's done and the quality of it. His experience and the information he shared was invaluable. Joe produces better animation than what you see on the networks.

We also held a raffle for the first time and had a series of prizes that we passed out. Alot of fun. We all had a good time with it. Made a little money and quite a few folks got something to take home with them including a free figure drawing workshop class at the Figurative Academy.

Our only disappointment, Snakebite was under the weather and couldn't make it. Not the same without you bro. But we did okay none the less. Lots of people hung out until very late. AN Nights are a great time. Big thanks to everyone who showed up. Hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Next month in April, Raul Garcia.

In May, Don Bluth.

I'd like to thank our guests for making last night a truly memorable AN Night.

Thanks to Mark McDonnell for the time and effort he put into his setup and for the information he shared with us and the positive word by which encouraged the audience with.

Thanks to the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art for the great presentation. A truly fantastic school.

A huge thanks to Joe Pearson. A remarkable creative presence in animation.

Thanks to Adrian Foster, AN's webmaster, for all of his assistance.

Thanks to Glen Moyes, aka Metsys here on the forums, for the use of his audio/visual equipment, without which AN Night would not be what it is.

And lastly but not leastly, to all the people who showed up. Our regulars as well as the new folks.

Looking forward to seeing you next time on April 27.

You weren't alone, Bite. An issue in my family came up and I wasn't able to make this one either!

1st AN Night I missed since I began coming, back last June. This week overall hasn't been good to me, but it's almost over--a bad memory I'll share with you guys this upcoming April AN Night.

Glad to hear, nevertheless, that things still successfully came together! That's what it's all about.

You were sorely missed E. Allen. Hope everything's going okay.

Look at it this way... It was a test. A test of the emergency AN Night system. We were without Snakebite and E. Allen, we had around 55 people, handled the pizzas and a raffle, made due with a cheap radio listening to disco songs on a retro station instead of Snakebite soul and funk mix, and we survived and prospered. Imagine what it would've been like with you there!

Next time guys, be well.

Biggest loss was Bite, hands-down--and I'm willing to bet every single hard-earned American dollar on that!

That said, I am overjoyed that the night went as Skynet said it did, which was apparently without a hitch!

Sometimes, you just can't see these things coming. Fortunately, Charles, everything is all right at the moment--just got a big headache from the unforeseen situation, is all.

Looking forward to being there this April AN Night, and this time, I will make a more ferocious effort as this will be Raul Garcia's night.
